During the training sessions, students will become familiar with common practices in business analysis, study the tasks performed by a business analyst, and learn to use techniques and tools to search, describe, implement and implement IT solutions in an organization.

Section I. Theoretical foundations of business analysis (20 academic hours)

• Fundamentals of business and systems analysis in software development
• Popular notations and tools for business modeling
• Software architecture
• UML modeling language. UML Modeling Tools
• Object-oriented approach. Basic concepts and principles
• Software Development Processes and Methods
• Communications with stakeholders
• Communications within the development team
• Classification of software requirements
• Document, review and manage software requirements
• Business processes and their modeling
• Principles and rules for constructing Use Case diagrams

Section II. UML modeling workshop (20 hours)

• Project structuring, familiarization with the CASE tool
• Modeling domain entities and their characteristics
• Modeling of subjects and their functional responsibilities
• Process/state modeling in UML
• Modeling the spatial placement of a software system
• Identifying and tracing functional requirements
• Modeling functional software requirements using use case diagrams
• Use case scenarios. Software prototyping
• Final project
