HTML5: Platform and Specification
A Brief History of HTML. New HTML5 ideology. Differences between HTML5 and HTML4.01 and XHTML1.x. New tags and attributes. Outdated tags.
New semantic elements of HTML5. Basic document structure. The meaning of the appearance of new elements and examples of use. Support for new tags in legacy browsers.
New possibilities for creating forms. New data input types: search, email, url, tel, range, number, datetime, etc. New input field attributes: autofocus, placeholder, reqired, autocpmlete, etc. Validation of form data on the client side. Backwards compatible with legacy browsers.
Layout basics. Blocks are the basic screen unit. Line and block boxes. Flow and arrangement of elements. Positioning: absolute and relative. Margin collapsing. Extrusion beyond the boundaries of the parent element. Verska floating (float) blocks. Cleaning float. CSS selector precedence (specificity).
