About the program
Purpose of the course– acquiring skills in working with the CorelDraw vector graphics system, becoming familiar with the basic methods of using this software product in industrial design, in developing advertising products, in designing presentations, in preparing images for web pages.
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Create a layout for postcards, packaging, labels, book covers, CDs, etc.
- Develop a corporate identity, logo, business card and calendar layouts.
- Create advertising blocks for souvenirs and industrial products.
- Prepare a multi-page layout.
- Create graphic elements for Web pages.
- Prepare drawings, diagrams and background templates for presentations.
- Create texture maps for 3D objects.
- Draw diagrams and drawings.
- Prepare layout of printed documentation.
- Import and edit a raster image.
- Trace a bitmap.

Basic concepts and components of digital imaging
The concept of vector and raster graphics. Graphic image formats. Review of modern software for performing artistic graphic work. Purpose and scope of professional application of the Corel Draw package. Composition and capabilities of the package. User interface of the program.
Basic techniques for working with primitive objects in CorelDraw
Graphic primitives: rectangle, ellipse, polygon, spiral, table. Changing the attributes of graphic primitives.
Commands for manipulating (selecting and transforming) objects in CorelDraw
Selecting objects and groups of objects. Scaling, rotation and transformation markers.
Creating and editing paths in Corel Draw
Freehand drawing and Bezier curves. Creation of arbitrary handicap objects. Skills in working with contours: nodes and segments.
